‘You should start a blog’ – they said.
‘Its easy!’ – they said.
We always had the intention of starting a blog of some sort so that friends and family could see what we were up to. The blog was further inspired, by the one and only Doris, who just completed an 180-day cruise around the world. We absolutely loved reading about their experiences, their country reports, their fellow passengers, and looked forward to the next notification to say a new post had been published.
The inspiration for a blog was there – now how to ‘build’ one? To say I am technically challenged is somewhat of an understatement, so you can imagine that the idea of making of a website from scratch seemed like a near on impossible task. The alternative was to pay someone to set it up for us. Being Dutch/Scottish/Kenyan we are genetically programmed to not want to part with our money willy nilly so – challenge accepted – we will make it ourselves.
I got the tip to complete this ‘easy peasy’ task by watching you tube tutorials. Ignoring the fact that it took me 9 days of full-time web building to complete a 2 hr 14-minute tutorial (thank you pause button) this was a fantastic tip and the result is now here, online, for the world to see!
